I guess I just don't get it.
To me it is pretty obvious, but to others it seems it is the opposite of what it should be. Which is worse, some stupid facebook likes which you can only see if you are a friend of the person, or intentionally and willfully making false/deceptive statements to the public in order to get re-elected (and those who fall in with said person in order to help their own cause)? Or how about a person running for Council who has a DUI? Or how about a Council member who is costing the citizens of Simi Valley money for health insurance when the person is covered by their full-time job? Or how about a Council which votes to retain their own benefits (conflict of interest), but remove the benefits from those who are newly elected (ignoring that each election is "new")? The list goes on. There are real issues which show a serious lack of judgment which actually affect residents of Simi Valley than something which has no effect. Yes, it is all just politics, which far too often the people seem to fall for and don't bother to look at those throwing the stones. |
