According to the news, a 32 year old SCHOOL TEACHER had sex with a 6TH GRADE student at an ELEMENTARY school in Simi Valley. This was looked into past February by the cops and admin people. It takes a long time in Simi to investigate, huh? The teacher was placed on leave/resigned, the principle transferred to a different school and the court put her in jail with a $2 million dollar bail! Wow!
This brings up many questions about our systems. First of all "innocent until proven guilty". Great to talk about, but simply not true. Cops, the courts, fellow prisoners, EVERYONE, treats you as soiled laundry. In this case, she has already been tried in the court of public opinion, the parents of her students, her own family, have decided her guilt and her fate.
Still, we have the people that "talk the talk". The people that will attempt to preach about "let's wait and see what the results are in court". As of right now, it don't make a damn bit of difference. Her reputation is shot and she will NEVER teach again unless she moves out of state. Forever, if found guilty (have any doubts?), she will be labeled a sexual predator.
In other news it is expected to be a beautiful Thursday in the valley!
