Let me start off by saying that the school board only "appears" to be transparent in dealing with the parents and the public at their open meetings on closing schools. They have discussed it behind closed doors on personal and secret e-mails, telephone calls and lunch meetings out of town.
We have discussed it and 4 of us will say if asked "that's our opinion". The schools that will be closed are the ones that the queen or superintendent feels will cause the least damage to the bottom line. There is no caring for students that are special needs or the parents that will have to work around a transfer by changing work schedules, spending more on gas, etc.
Bottom line its a done deal. Sad.......Perhaps the public will wake up and elect a new board at the next election?
