Bad news for America
To the Editor:
America is in crisis! Our Founding Fathers would be shocked to see how far we have fallen, from the most powerful and respected nation in the world to a weak ineffectual nation. An American ambassador was murdered by terrorists and no one is held responsible. ISIS beheads Americans and threatens to fly their flag on the White House and we “spank” them with airstrikes rather than with both bombs and boots on the ground.
Many retired military experts warn us that our armed forces are being reduced to an unacceptable level by our president, supposedly, to promote peace. Instead, he is encouraging our enemies to attack us. Remember the radical Muslims who joyously danced in the streets after the Twin Towers fell? Today, Russia “thumbs its nose at our country’s leadership as it no longer fears us. Whatever happened to “peace through strength”?
Financial experts are warning us that the dollar bill will soon be replaced by other monetary systems. China and Russia are conspiring to do just that. The dollar has always been the standard of the global monetary system. We are spending more money than we have on ineffective and frivolous state and federal programs. Our national debt is a disgrace. Picture this: It would take a dollar bill stacked on one another to reach to the moon and back five times. Moreover, why are we indebted to China who could “take us down” financially if they wished? China is not only selling us food, medical and home products, pet food, etc. without buying much, if any, of our products. It is hard to find products made in the USA. As the United States is a big consumer of Chinese products, does this account for China undermining our dollar and helping China grow economically and militarily thus replacing the USA as the most powerful nation in the world?
We have more than 47 percent of Americans (the size of the population of Spain) who are provided food stamps, housing, cell phones and medical care all at taxpayer’s expense. Most Americans have no problem with those who are really in need, but feel adults who are using the system should get off the couch and get a job. Moreover, unwed females should stop getting pregnant to increase benefits.
Illegal aliens and unaccompanied children are flooding our borders, weakening our nation financially. Federal law is ignored. States like Texas and Arizona try to bring order to their borders and have been told by the government that it is not the states job to enforce immigration laws. As a result, illegals are provided with free food, housing medical care all at taxpayers expense. Then, in addition, our open borders are inviting criminals, terrorists and possible Ebola carriers to “come on in.”
More bad news for America: The beauty and sacredness of marriage is being redefined even though it is diametrically opposed to nature and the natural order of things. Abortion is another enigma. Planned Parenthood spends millions of dollars to persuade that death is better than life. There will be a price to pay for society as a whole. Too many abortions compared to the lower live birth rate adversely affects our position in the world. According to Right to Life 56,405,766, abortions have taken place since abortion was made legal in 1973. Our enemies are multiplying faster than we are.
Culturally, the movies, TV and video games in America are getting dirtier and more violent. Could this explain why some of our young people have compromised emotions and are being desensitized in viewing violence in every shape or form. Gone are the days “When Father Knows Best” on TV and Mickey Rooney movies were replaced with “glorification of violence.” TV and movies had such a potential for good, but greed got in the way. The “producers” discovered smutty language, raunchy sex and “big time” violence sells better than “taking the high road.”
God and his Christian principals have been removed from our public schools (including the cross on the water tower in St. Cloud). All over our nation the ACLU is working hard to remove every vestige of Christianity from our government, the armed forces, etc. The ACLU and others are ignoring the fact that the Supreme Court stated in 1934 “that we are a Christian nation” and the fact that our government was built on Christian principals. The ACLU erroneously believes that religion should be a private matter and that all religions should have equal standing in America.
Perhaps a book “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky will wake Americans up. Hillary Clinton wrote her senior thesis at Wellesley College in 1969 on his writings. A lot of what Alinsky wrote about is adversely influencing many of our politicians today.
I have faith in the goodness of America and the majority of its people. Although we have strayed from our ideals, I believe it is not too late. God willing, to return to our rightful foundation. God bless America.
