It's probably just me but why is a school district in Simi Valley, a more affluent community than average, have such a poor school rating? Searching the web, I see potential companies that could move there, but when they factor in the schools for their kids, they either don't make the move or suggest it would be possible to move "IF" the schools were better.
Are the residents aware or do they care about failing middle and high schools?
Are they aware of how much debt the school board and superintendent has allowed? Are they aware that it's possible for the state to take over the school system? And what would the state charge? Would Ventura County be on the hook for repayment? At what interest rate and for how long? Would they think to impose a "parcel tax" to fund repayment? Would that have to be voted on by taxpayers?
Possibly at the next election, if it can wait that long, the voters could clean house and elect 4 new members. (The newest one hasn't really had a chance to be judged yet). Just throwing it out there.
